Motivational Teaching Strategies and EFL Students' Essay Writing Proficiency

چکیده

Motivation is considered a complex and challenging issue in teaching, especially second language courses. Many studies have been conducted about motivational strategies teaching English language, however, the research that focuses on essay writing still rare. Therefore, this aims to describe effect of students’ proficiency their response its implementation. These include Creating Basic Motivational Condition (CBMC), Generating Initial (GIM), Maintaining Protecting (MPM), Encouraging Positive Retrospective Self-Evaluation (EPRS). The participants were third-semester undergraduates private university, Indonesia, enrolled writing. data collected by conducting tests interviews. results revealed there was statistically significant impact students' scores, as observed from improvement pre-test post-test scores In addition, interview showed positive consciousness progress which indicated appropriateness class. necessity implementing new model instruction lecturers teachers general.
